From September 9–14, Yerevan hosted the third NPATAK International Architecture Festival, with the participation of 10 international studios from seven countries and the Armenian architectural community. The festival featured lectures and discussions on global approaches to architecture and urban development, as well as challenges and opportunities in the professional sphere.

As Armenia’s leading manufacturer of aluminum doors and windows, PROFAL was once again the main sponsor of the festival this year. In his opening speech, PROFAL’s CEO Edgar Avetisyan emphasized that NPATAK has quickly become an important platform for meaningful dialogue, knowledge sharing, and professional collaboration.

“Architecture is a field where today’s ideas shape tomorrow’s society. Through various projects, PROFAL works closely with both local and international architectural studios and has seen firsthand how valuable these collaborations are. Architects bring their ideas and imagination, and our specialists make them a reality,” said Avetisyan.

According to the festival’s founders, NPATAK has become a unique environment where architects from different cultures and countries not only share their experiences in Armenia but also create new ideas together.
“This year, the festival gained even greater momentum, attracting dozens of international studios from China, Europe, and other countries. It provides Armenian and foreign professionals with an opportunity to meet in person, hold discussions, and explore the multi-layered architecture of Yerevan and Armenia,” said NPATAK co-founder Hayk Shahinyan.

The third festival featured lectures and discussions with representatives of leading international studios, including OFFICE KGDVS (Brussels, Belgium), Neri&Hu (Shanghai, China), Studio Muoto (Paris, France), NOMOS (Geneva, Switzerland / Lisbon, Portugal / Madrid, Spain), DF_DC (London, UK), Förstberg Ling (Malmö, Sweden), Anna & Eugeni Bach (Barcelona, Spain), PIOVENEFABI (Milan, Italy / Brussels, Belgium), Langarita Navarro Architects (Madrid, Spain), and DRDH (London, UK).

As part of the program, a panel discussion was held on “Old Mistakes, New Paths, Challenges and Opportunities: Design, Production, and Construction in Contemporary Armenian Architecture.” Participants included PROFAL CEO Edgar Avetisyan, Levon Kasparov (COO of Renshin), Meruzhan Minasian (co-founder and director of Storaket Architectural Workshop), and Artur Ter-Simonyan (founder and director of Project EVN, representing the MAYRI neighborhood). The discussion was moderated by Zaven Ayvazyan, Strategy Director at Stone Development.
